ELICINA® CREAM is made in Chile with an extract from snails of the species Helix Aspersa Müller. The same they leave on their paths while crawling and use to regenerate their own shell and skin whenever damaged. The extraction process is done with water as a solvent and it does no harm to the living snails. Both the extraction process and the other ingredients used to make the cream is patented in Chile.

For years we have been selling ELICINA®, the skin care cream made in Chile and based on secretions from snails extracted with a process that uses many snails in water and then filters.

We at ANDES NATURAL SKIN CARE LLC have now come up with brand new skincare products that use the snail's secretions pure, collected directly from each snail, one by one, and then immediately stabilized by a property biotechnology developed to protect the complex biological ingredient from degrading.

We also make a superior cream, for instead of chemicals and mineral oil to transform the viscous fluid into a cream we use all natural ingredients.

Originally we were the first company to offer the ELICINA® CREAM on the internet and this opened many opportunities for both Mr. Bascuñan (the creator of Elicina) and for our customers.

For many years we had been urging Mr. Fernando Bascuñan to consider improving the product he had invented, which is based on a process he patented ONLY in Chile.

After studying the molecules in the mucin secreted by the snails and it's positive effects for skin problems, we found certain improvements could be made that would be beneficial for everyone, as in our opinion this perfect gift of nature was being spoiled by adding mineral oil and chemicals.

However our suggestions and proposals fell on deaf ears. Thus, we decide to take our research further and discover more about the marvels of the snail mucin and how it could yield even better results. To our surprise we did discover a process that is much better for the collection of the snail's gift for it does not alter the biological composition of the mucin and is also in no way harmful to the snails. In most extraction processes the substance undergoes degradation by hydrolysis of the proteins (complex amino-acid and carbohydrate chains get broken when in water) and again undergo destruction of it's properties when mixed with other substances to make it into a cream. We invested in biotechnology to ensure that the precious substance we gather from the snails, as they secrete it, does not become degraded and we created a formulation that ensures proper release of the biological ingredient deep within the skin.

BIOSKINCARE™ CREAM is made in the United States. We started selling it in June 2006. And it is not in the market in Chile as an imported product, since we wish to respect the patent of the original invention which is valid in Chile until July OF 2007.

Luckily for us we live in a Global Village where there is market competition that brings forth the benefits of improvements to consumers.

We have been listening to our customers feedback and concerns with the chemicals in Elicina® as well as the requirements to be able to use a product that is effective and provides the desired results.
