Mineral Face Makeup: The Basics
Mineral face makeup is really much better for your skin that the makeups that are made with oil. Mineral face makeup is usually in a powder form and is made from minerals that are found in the soil. It might sound a bit nasty and gross but don't judge it until you have tried it for yourself. The mineral face makeup feels much lighter than wearing other makeups.
When I first tried mineral face makeup, I didn't like it at all because I wasn't used to putting on such small amounts of foundation. My face ended up looking off color and rather clownish. I swore I would never use the stuff ever again, and then I saw a special for it on a shopping channel and they demonstrated how to properly apply it. I decided to give it another try.
The first step in applying mineral face makeup is to first apply a good mineral makeup moisturizer: this softens your skin and makes the foundation go on smoothly. Then I would highly recommend purchasing a set of quality mineral makeup brushes. Oftentimes when you buy a starter set of mineral makeup, it will come with a set of makeup brushes. Don't use cheap ones!
It is very important to use high quality mineral makeup brushes to get the best possible result. These brushes have a flatter base than regular brushes, and it is the shape of the brush that controls how well the powder goes on to your face. A brush that is of low quality will simply absorb the makeup, while a better made, higher quality brush will smooth it onto your face.
Once you use the mineral makeup moisturizer, then place a small amount of the foundation powder onto the brush and tap it against the bottle to shake off the loose powder, then apply to the face and enjoy the results! It takes some getting used to, because like I said, mineral makeups are a lot lighter than liquid ones. At first you will not notice that you have makeup on at all, but be careful not to overdo it.
Most of the more popular shopping networks are having full hour shows devoted to nothing but mineral makeups so mineral makeups are becoming more common these days. One recommendation is the be sure and pick the better quality brands since the cheaper ones never seem to work as good as the better ones. Even so, the better brands aren't really too expensive. Once you try it you'll realize that it was worth the extra dollars. After trying the bare mineral makeup I will continue to use it and not go back to the liquid makeup.
